The Rosie's Light Foundation is an organization founded in the memory of Rosanne Patten that seeks to provide awareness, support, and advocate for the care and cure of patients with pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer should not be fought alone. Medical professionals such as patient care technicians, nurses, advanced practitioners and physicians are pivotal in caring for our loved ones. Part of our foundation will aim to recognize those who truly make a positive impact through compassionate and exceptional care. The 'Rosie Award' will be an annual award to a nominated health care provider who exemplifies the qualities that Rosanne has given to her patients over the past 50 years as a registered nurse. We believe that with your support and continued involvement, the Rosie's Light Foundation will make an enormous impact on the future of pancreatic cancer care, treatment, and help to more quickly find a cure. Rosanne was a beautiful ray of sunshine to us all and the warmth of her light has passed onto each one of us who was lucky enough to experience it. We appreciate you helping to keep her light shining through this foundation in order to achieve advancements in medical treatment options starting now.
Rosanne was a nurse before she achieved her nursing license and degree. It was a calling. She exemplified care and compassion and treated everyone she met – especially those patients she cared for – like family. She provided a smile, a laugh, and a kind comfort during a difficult time to make difficult situations more manageable.
We started the Rosie’s Light Foundation in her memory and thanks to your donations, have been able to start an annual Scholarship Award for St. Peter’s Hospital and Health Partners. This annual award seeks to recognize and provide benefit to those caregivers going to school to become a Registered Nurse – those that exemplify the qualities our Mother shared with all who knew her, and those she cared for during her career.
